Yummy prawns ready in a jiffy

PRAWNS IN OYSTER SAUCE

I love prawns...I could eat them everyday...they are a good source of protein, vit B-12 and B-6, iron and other minerals.

This recipe is one of my husband's favourite which I invented last month when I was in a haste to prepare something quickly for dinner and all I could find in my freezer was prawns.

 Here goes the recipe.

PRAWNS IN OYSTER SAUCE

Serves 3 to 4
Prep Time 5 Mins
Cooking Time 10 to 15 mins or till prawns are cooked

INGREDIENTS

Medium prawns or shrimp de-veined and cleaned 1 kg
Onion chopped 2 medium
Garlic chopped 2 tbsp
Green chillies chopped 2 to 3
Oyster sauce 1 tbsp
Red chilli flakes 1 tsp
Lemon juice 1 tbsp
Olive oil 1 tbsp
Oil 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

METHOD

Heat oil in a pan, add onion, garlic and green chillies and saute till onions turn translucent. Next add prawns and cook for a minute. Then add oyster sauce, olive oil, red chilli flakes and salt. Fry the prawns till they are cooked (i.e. lightly roasted, soft and pink in colour). Put lemon juice, mix and serve hot.
