CHOCO CHIP PANCAKES |
From Crepes in France and Tiganites in Greece to Uttapam in India and Kimchi pancakes in Korea, pancakes are eaten in various parts of the world. They serve as a very famous American breakfast. People from various cultures enjoy it with tasty ingredients and toppings.
Pancake is a flat cake made in a frying pan using batter made out of eggs, flour, milk or water and oil or melted butter. Inspired by the lovely pancake recipes, I have come up with my version of chocolate pancakes using wheat flour, cocoa powder and semi-sweet choco chips. A perfect breakfast for a sunday morning.
Here goes the recipe...
CHOCO CHIP PANCAKES
Serves 2
Prep time 10 mins
Cooking time 5 mins
INGREDIENTS
Wheat flour 8 tbsp or 1 cup
Milk 150 ml
Egg 1
Baking powder 2 tsp
Cocoa powder 3/4 tsp
Brown semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 and a half to 3 tbsp
Brown sugar 2 tbsp
Salt a pinch
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
METHOD
Take a bowl and whisk together egg, milk and brown sugar and keep aside. Take another bowl, put wheat flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, salt, vegetable oil and chocolate chips. Next put the milk and egg mixture in the bowl. Mix all the ingredients nicely taking care that no lumps are formed. Your batter is ready.
Now take a frying pan and grease it evenly with a drop of oil using a napkin or a brush. Heat pan on medium flame, put a dollop of batter in the center , cook both sides of the pancake approximately 2 mins each. Remove from heat, plate it, drizzle honey, put a strawberry on top and serve.
